Swift Impulse was broadcasting on radio for 6 1/2 years, between the dates of May 19th, 2005 - November 27th, 2011.
This wouldn't have been possible without past contributions from other people at Southern FM, as well as other radio stations along the way.
Cammo began his radio career on April 26th 2003. He appeared on air as a guest on Southern FM, on a show called Essential Rhythm. From this date until November 20th, 2004, he maintained a regular guest appearance on the show, contributing to producing promos, snippets, and helped increase the show's exposure. November 20th was Essential Rhythm's final show for 2004 and the last time Cammo appeared on the show.
Having the experience and drive he gained, Cammo wanted to create his own show similar to Essential Rhythm on a different timeslot. He teamed up with DJ Panaz (now known as Van-G), and Beth. The 3 initially did some trial broadcasts on a station called Street FM. Cammo and Van-G also did regular online broadcasts for Planet Audio Australia, usually peaking out the streaming server's threshold with their shows.
On December 28th, 2004 Cammo and Van-G named the new radio show Swift Impulse, which broadcasted for the first time on Street FM. While this was the initial date the show broadcasted, we didn't officially launch Swift Impulse until we moved back to Southern FM. We had done a number of trial broadcasts/fill in shows on Southern FM, but the show officially began on May 19th 2005. The show resided on a Thursday morning 12am-1am timeslot temporarily until May 28, 2005 when the show's timeslot officially changed to Saturday Nights 10PM-12AM.
On June 11th 2005 Beth decided to cease being a host on Swift Impulse as she had other commitments which prevented her from being able to host the show. Cammo and Van-G continued hosting the show, until October 8th 2005 when Van-G also had other commitments preventing him from continuing with the show.
Cammo solo hosted Swift Impulse with regular help from Dylan. Dylan started on the show on July 2nd, 2005. He produced many 'Chillin' With Dylan' segments over the coming months. After many shows together, on November 4th, 2006, Cammo promoted Dylan to become a Co-Host to the show.
The duo hosted Swift Impulse together for a long time until Dylan's schedule also became too hard for him to continue with the show. With this, his date of departure was August 15th, 2009, which was broadcasted live at a secret location to celebrate his efforts.
Jake has been a regular guest to the show since September 16th, 2007. On 15th March, 2008, he hosted his first segment 'Schitty Wok Bargains', which got his foot in the door to become a segment host. He maintained regular guest appearances all throughout 2008 - 2009. On June 20th, 2009 Cammo and Dylan promoted Jake to become the 3rd host to Swift Impulse. Cammo and Jake now host Swift Impulse together, as stated above, Dylan left the show a couple of months after this.
As the dymanic of the show had changed completely with Dylan's departure, a relaunch was decided in order to change the way the show operated. The show is now more music orientated with more interactive segments, music news, short news and other fun and exciting segments.
This was short lived however, as both Cammo and Jake began finding it hard to maintain the Saturday night timeslot. After 5 years of broadcasting on a Saturday night, on May 16th 2010 Swift Impulse began its first Sunday night show, with the time slot of 10PM-12AM.
Cammo and Jake hosted Swift Impulse every Sunday night from 10PM-12AM on 88.3 Southern FM until November 27th, 2011. While the show is no longer live on air, you can listen to our old shows by visiting the podcasts section.
